RF MODULE

The Time Of Flight (TOF) measurement is sometimes performed with the arrival of particles on the target as reference time. The arrival of particles on the target is synchronized with the cyclotron phase. Therefore, it is useful to measure this phase with the FASTER time. So the goal of the RF module is to synchronyse the FASTER system time with the arrival of the particles on the target. Here is the manual of the RF module.

Key features :

• Input frequency F_in = 1Mhz to 100Mhz,
• BP frequency : 10ppm or 150ppm F_in,
• Resolution 1fs or 15fs,
• An oscilloscope and an event counter.

Hardware compatible

• Work with the caras daughter board,
• Compatible with the syroco_v2, syroco_nim and syroco_amc boards.

Generated Data

The RF module provides 3 kinds of 2ns-accuracy timestamped data :

• an Oscilloscope data,
• an Event counter data,
• a RF module data which containt :
  
  • the cleaned period,
  • the cleaned trigger time,
  • the PLL Input trigger time.
