FASTER website
This website was designed and developed by David Etasse in collaboration with the FASTER's Team. This web site is powered by Joomla 2.5. Joomla! is an award-winning content management system (CMS), which enables you to build Web sites and powerful online applications. Many aspects, including its ease-of-use and extensibility, have made Joomla the most popular Web site software available. Best of all, Joomla is an open source solution that is freely available to everyone.
LPC Caen makes every effort to ensure, but does not guarantee, the accuracy of the information on its web site. Hyperlinks to other web sites imply neither responsibility for, nor approval of, the information contained in those other web sites on the part of LPC Caen.

FASTER PROJECT
FASTER is a new digital modular acquisition system developed at LPC. If you want a fast overview of the FASTER project, watch this vidéo. If you are interested in using FASTER or simply have a question, please contact us using this link (contact us).
FASTER
- is able to perform charge and time of flight measurements (FASTER-QDC-TDChr module),
- has a digital shaper-discriminator-peak and hold function for the energy spectra of radiations measurements (FASTER-ADC module),
- is able to demodulate the Radio Frequency of a cyclotron (FASTER-RF module),
- can make complex decision on the data stream,
- same hardware can be used for different modules (FASTER-ADC,QDC-TDChr, RF, etc...),
- is able to (re)load a module in less than 1s,
- is able to process up several millions measurements per second (computer depending)
FASTER can handle a lot of nuclear detectors with the same electonic boards:
- Solid-state detectors (Silicon detectors, HPGe, SiLi and CdTe detectors),
- Gaseous detectors (Ionization chambers, GEM detectors, Proportional counters, ...),
- Scintillators + Photomultiplier tube
- Inorganic : NaI, CsI, YAG, LaBr, Li doped glass scintillator....,
- Organic : Plastic scintillators, Liquid scintillators for pulse shape discrimination.
- RF cyclotron demodulation,
- SiPM detectors,
- Micro Channel plates with delay lines or resistive anodes for localization.
FASTER is used or tested by several people in different countries :
- BELGIUM : University of Leuven,
- FRANCE : University of Paris-Sud, IPN0, GANIL, CIMAP, CEA, LPC Caen.
- SPAIN : University of Granada,
- SWITZERLAND : PSI, CERN,
- USA : CENPA , MSU, GONZAGA
- RUSSIA : JINR
- ROMANIA : IFIN-HH.
