PID FILE

A dedicated Parameters Input Description file (pid extension) is attempted by RHB to read data from the FASTER DAQ. This pid file can be edited and relies on a very simple structure like that :

faster_label:faster_type:parameter_name

faster_label is a number related to a detector. We decided to use this convention:

  • 0001 – 0999 -> DSP data (RF, TREF, QDC1-4ADC1)
  • 1001 – 1999 -> Counter data (RF_COUNT, QCOUNT, ACOUNT)
  • 2001 – 2999 -> Oscillogram data (OSC)

faster_type is the type of the data. Here is a list of availaible faster_type depending of the modules you are using in your FASTER system:

Pass your mouse over the faster_type, you will see all the raw parameters generated by RHB.

QDC-TDChr module

FASTER | TREF:CH1 will generate 2 raw parameters in RHB
FASTER | TREF:CH1 will generate 2 raw parameters in RHB
FASTER | QDC4:CH1 will generate 10 raw parameters in RHB
FASTER | QDC4:CH1 will generate 10 raw parameters in RHB
FASTER | QDC_COUNT:CH1 will generate 3 raw parameters in RHB
FASTER | QDC_COUNT:CH1 will generate 3 raw parameters in RHB
FASTER | OSC:CH1 will generate 2 raw parameters in RHB
FASTER | OSC:CH1 will generate 2 raw parameters in RHB

SHAPER-PEAK-AND-HOLD module

FASTER | ADC1:CH1 will generate 5 raw parameters in RHB
FASTER | ADC1:CH1 will generate 5 raw parameters in RHB
FASTER | ADC_COUNT:CH1 will generate 4 raw parameters in RHB
FASTER | ADC_COUNT:CH1 will generate 4 raw parameters in RHB
